People look so hard to find the magic that they seek that they don’t realize that it just might be right in front of them. Sometimes, all it takes is a camera to see it :)

I love my contacts on flickr. It amazes me sometimes how wonderful they’re able to capture photos that are so beautiful. This one makes me wish I lived in Portugal.

I decided to gift myself a Fujifilm X100 this year for Christmas. I sold some stocks and placed an order from a US based seller on eBay. Do any of my followers based in the Puget Sound area want to model for me? It’s free :P all you’d have to do is to meet me.
Minolta XD-11 with Rokkor-X 24mm by camera.bear on Flickr.
In 1973, Leica and Minolta signed an agreement that would allow the two companies to work closely in SLR designs. The decision to co-develop cameras with Minolta was due to two years of disappointing sales of the Leica M5 rangefinder.
Minolta’s XD series (and specifically the XD11 [XD in the domestic Japanese market, XD7 in Europe]) became the basis for Leica’s R4, R5, R6, and R7 SLR camera chassis.
Minolta’s influence can be seen in the R series cameras and also the Leica CL, and later Minolta’s CLE.

Pre-orders started today, according to my e-mail inbox…
If only I had $400-$500 to drop right now! >_<
it is sad that technology has automated the camera to the point where you don’t even need to select a point for your auto-focus to focus on…everything’s now in post processing. i believe what separates great photographers from good photographers is that they can literally feel the mechanical processes that’s involved in their technique. *sigh* maybe i’m just a romantic.

Beautiful! The old and the new. I love my Leica X1 - such a great camera! Does anyone know what model the old Leica in this picture is?
According to the Leica Camera database…the serial matches with a batch of Leica IIIF Red Dials produced in 1953.
